The ADA Credentialing service, powered by CAQH Proview, is a free universal profile for health care professionals and has made great strides to make the application easier for Dentists. The CAQH profile is used to store your demographic data such as Tax ID, NPI, DEA, professional license/s and practice addresses to minimize the additional paperwork that is required by each insurance carrier. Once completed, this may be accepted as both a Credentialing and Recredentialing application across most dental carriers, saving you time from working on various versions of the applications.
If you have been facing longer credentialing times due to missing or incomplete information, CAQH leaves little room for these errors, streamlining the process from start to finish. Initiating the application can take about 1-2 hours, but from there you simply log in every 6 months to update any expired credentials and re-attest in just minutes. Don’t want to take time away from patients? CAQH has also developed resources where you can allow your practice administrator to assist in managing your profile.
As you know, Cigna Dental has recently discontinued use of our traditional lengthy paper applications. These versions can take up to 90 days to process, however applicants using Cigna’s New/Additional location form along with their CAQH ID will see rush processing and faster effective dates.
