As we informed you earlier this year, Health Care Services Corporation (HCSC) acquired Cigna Healthcare’s Medicare Advantage, Supplemental Benefits, Medicare Part D, and CareAllies business. As part of the transaction, HCSC gained the HealthSpring brand. In July, HCSC announced it would roll out its 2026 benefit plans under the HealthSpring name.

Beginning in January 2026, you will begin seeing patients with HealthSpring benefit coverage. You can check out this press release to learn more.

Here’s what Cigna Dental providers need to know now:

Question: Why did HCSC choose HealthSpring?

Answer: The HealthSpring brand is a trusted name that reflects HCSC’s role as a partner and provider of Medicare benefits to customers for nearly a century. Its goal is to empower members to live vibrant and healthy lives, and the HealthSpring name is a reminder of this mission.

Question: Does the new brand name impact current Cigna-branded Medicare Advantage products or benefits, specifically dental benefits?

Answer: No. HCSC is still selling and servicing current Cigna-branded Medicare Advantage products through the end of 2025. HCSC will offer 2026 plans and benefits under the new name, HealthSpring. Cigna Dental will continue to manage the Medicare Advantage supplemental dental benefits as HealthSpring’s vendor. Please continue to serve your Medicare Advantage patients with the same quality as always. Verify eligibility to confirm patients are Cigna Medicare members and to determine in which plan they are enrolled.

Question: Does the new brand name impact my agreement with Cigna Dental?

Answer: No, the terms of your current contracts, including reimbursement rates, remain in effect. Through your contract with Cigna, you will still be an in-network provider for these patients. Your partnership with us is valued, and we are committed to maintaining this stability.

Question: How were current members notified of the new brand?

Answer: Members were notified of the new brand via the press release. They will also see a notice on the member website, in the Annual Notice of Coverage (ANOC), and a few other places in the coming months.

We will share more information with you soon. We hope you feel as excited as we do about this partnership and the offerings we will provide in the years to come.
